Brief Discriptions
With the Dragon Boat Festival approaching, to help children learn about this traditional Chinese festival—including its origins, customs, foods, and the festive experience—the school is collaborating with a partner company to host special Dragon Boat Festival activities. This aims to deepen the children's understanding of Chinese traditions and allow them to immerse themselves in the celebratory atmosphere.
Activities on the day include:
- An introduction to the Dragon Boat Festival
- Making zongzi (sticky rice dumplings)
- Crafting scented sachets
- Experiencing dragon boat paddling
- Participating in dragon boat races
Through videos, children will explore the festival’s history, traditional customs, and iconic foods. They’ll have hands-on opportunities to wrap zongzi and make sachets—learning about the ingredients used and the process involved.
They’ll also team up with classmates to race dragon boats and experience paddling in water, capturing the spirit of the festival's boat competitions.
During snack time, the children can taste the zongzi they made themselves.
To wrap up the day, the school will distribute festive books and craft kits so children can continue the celebration at home with their families.
