The scenes from the early days of Tsz-long’s admission are still vivid in my mind. I am truly grateful that the principal and teachers never showed any impatience toward him, even though he would easily burst into tears at that time. They never said anything negative that would make me feel pressured. Instead, they share me different ways to comfort him and help him process his emotions. Through your guidance and sharing, I gradually learned some useful strategies to assist him in expressing and managing his feelings.
Later, when I saw more smiles on his face, and when he began to share bits and pieces of what he did at school, I knew that he had started building relationships with his teachers, the school, and his classmates. Now that the time to say goodbye is approaching, I truly feel reluctant to part.
I am also deeply grateful for all the thoughtfully prepared parent-child activities. Each activity brought me pleasant surprises. For example, during the Lunar New Year Fair event, one of the booths was handing out narcissus bulbs. Everyone gathered to clean and peel the bulbs together—something so memorable. Because of this experience, when I later took Tsz-long to the flower market, he was even able to recognize and say the name “narcissus.”
The snack-making activity in “Sweet Parent-Child Moments,” as well as the art activity in “Appreciating You,” also allowed me and Tsz-long to enjoy many warm and wonderful moments together.
